Azpilicueta speaks on his 8-year at Chelsea: Proud to be a part of this club

Chelsea captain says that he never imagined playing as many games as he has when he first arrived at the club.

He explains that he only thinks about training as hard as possible and always being available for the manager to count on him.

Azpi adds that he wants to reach more targets and give his best every day in the future.

"When I arrived at Chelsea, I couldn’t imagine the amount of games that I would play," Cesar Azpilicueta told Chelsea's official website.

"I never put a target on myself. I just always try to be available for the manager, to train hard and to play hard whenever I have the chance so to reach this amount of games is amazing and it’s something I’m really proud of.

"I always felt the confidence from the managers, from the club and from my team-mates but I don’t like to look behind too much. I want to reach more targets, give my best every day and be proud to be a part of this club."

It's no wonder that Lampard recently called Azpi the "epitome of the club" as he praised the mentality and dedication of his team's captain.

The defender has made 386 appearances for the Blues in his 8 seasons so far and his availability and consistency is brilliant and unmatched. We're sure there's more to come from the captain next season!
