Barcelona keepsr Ter Stegen to miss start of next season, knee surgery tomorrow

The German could even miss up to four months, according to the Madrid-based media.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen will have surgery on his right patellar tendon in his knee this Tuesday, August 18; Barcelona have just confirmed.

He was experiencing some problems with the affected area throughout the season, their statement adds.

The club haven't revealed how much the German would miss yet the initial suggestions say he would certainly miss the start of the season.

Madrid-based source Diario AS earlier predicted that the goalkeeper is unlikely to recover until mid-November.

Barca have Neto and reserves star Inaki Pena within their ranks to cover for Ter Stegen's absence.

Last term, the German goalkeeper kept 15 clean sheets in 46 games.
We wish Marc speedy recovery.
