Bayern midfielder Goretzka reveals he doesn't regret turning down Barca two years ago

The former Schalke midfielder Goretzka was linked with the Catalans in 2018 but Barca got Arthur instead.

"Back then I thought about it for a long time," Leon Goretzka recalled Barcelona's interest in an interview with Munich-based daily TZ.

"I had a few options. I listened to everything and made a conscious decision to join Bayern. I've never regretted making this decision."

The midfielder left Schalke for the Bavarians on a free transfer despite Barca's strong interest. Instead, they landed Arthur for €31m who will join Juventus next season for €72m plus €10m in add-ons.

This term, Goretzka has managed 8 goals and 10 assists compared to Arthur's tally of 4 goals and 4 assists.
