Immobile still cannot believe he won Golden Boot: I came between Leo-Cristiano

Immobile has confesses it was weird to finish the 2019-2020 campaign with better results than Lewandowski and Ronaldo achieved.

He appears star-struck when reading the names of the previous holders of the Golden Boot award.

"It's crazy, me in front of Ronaldo and Lewandowski. If I reread the roll of honour, I almost don't believe it: Messi, Messi, (Luis) Suarez, Ronaldo, Ronaldo, Messi, Messi, Ronaldo, Messi," Lazio's striker Ciro Immobile, the brand new Golden Boot winner is quoted by Diario AS.

The 30-year-old added: "I interrupted the Leo-Cristiano duet. For this I thanked the team, it was the least I could do."

The Italian managed 36 Serie A goals this season. He was followed by Bayern's marksman Robert Lewandowski with 34 Bundesliga goals and Cristiano Ronaldo with 31 goals.

Messi didn't make the podium with 'just' 25 La Liga goals yet the Argentinian has claimed more Golden Boots than any other player with six.
