It's not enough for Barcelona to change manager: Matthaus
Bayern legend Lothar Matthaus is surprised to see Barca playing the way they played against Bayern on Friday.
He didn't expect the Catalans to concede 8 goals.
Barca have to buy a lot of new players but they seem to be financially fragile, Matthaus notes.
"It hurts to see a team like Barcelona, that excited us all for many years, play the way they played tonight [on Friday]," Bayern and Germany legend Lothar Matthaus told Sky.
"I saw Bayern as a favourite but not as much, I never thought they would score eight goals, but the six-goal difference shows the difference that was seen on the pitch.
"It is not enough to change the manager, they need a lot of new players and I don't think they are in a position to spend as much money as they usually do," he added.
Josep Maria Bartomeu has recently admitted that Barcelona would have to give up on multi-million deals for about 3-4 years. The financial crisis seems to have hit Barca hard.
The managerial change might still happen, however. Ronald Koeman is said to be the best-positioned candidate to take over at Camp Nou, with Mauricio Pochettino and Xavi reportedly considered as well.
