Source confirms Luka Jovic will stay at Real Madrid next season

Despite exit links, the Serbian striker is once again expected to compete for his position with Karim Benzema.

According to AS, Real Madrid are set to retain Luka Jovic for next season as they have decided against spending on new players this transfer window.

The coronavirus pandemic has sparked an economic downturn and it has affected Los Blancos' coffers as well.

However, this could benefit Jovic, who has been routinely linked with a permanent exit from the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 22-year-old striker will have to compete for the No.9 spot with Karim Benzema yet again and given the Frenchman's prolific form, that could be tough.

Jovic scored just twice in the league last season and spent most of his time injured. If the pattern continues, he'll have his work cut out for him in 2020/21.
