Thiago Silva Agent reveals He rejected late PSG stay offer to join Chelsea

The French heavyweights' senior figures basically let their long-serving captain down.

Thiago Silva's representative Paulo Tonietto has opened up on quite a strange situation that occurred in the Brazilian's last days at PSG.

"He had given up hope because Leonardo told him two months ago that he did not want to extend it," the agent told L'Equipe.

"But last Tuesday, Leonardo called Thiago and raised the possibility that he would stay another year.

"Thiago had already reached an agreement with Chelsea, there was no turning back. When you make such a proposal, you have to be convinced.

A sporting director who tells a player he doesn't want him anymore, and two months later wants to extend it, how do you take that?"

Silva has joined Chelsea on a free transfer following the expiry of his PSG deal. Although the Brazilian is 35 years old already, he has proven that he still walks into pretty much any team in the world, leading his club to a domestic treble and helping them reach the Champions League final in 2019/20.

Silva is a true champion. Incredibly enough, the centre-back has won 23 major trophies over the last 8 years.
