Xavi might not have what it takes to become Barcelona head coach now: Barca Presidential candidate Benedito
"I think he's been the most important player in Barca's history after Messi. I admire him a lot," presidential candidate Agusti Benedito told Diario Sport when asked on his opinion on Xavi Hernandez.
Yet, he had doubts whether the legendary midfielder is experienced enough to take charge at Barca.
Benedito added: "He's spent five years in Qatar now and I honestly think before he takes charge he should do what other legends did: Luis Enrique and Guardiola. That's to say coach the B team or join Koeman's staff."
According to reliable sources, Leo Messi doesn't want to stay at Barcelona because he would have preferred to see Xavi replacing Quique Setien, not Ronald Koeman.
Meanwhile, the current Al-Sadd manager was Josep Maria Bartomeu's first choice to take over at the Catalan club for the next season, multiple Spanish outlets reported.
