6 Fact that shows that Mendy could be the answer to Chelsea's set-piece issues
Kepa has struggled with being dominant in his box and clearing out crosses but that's where Mendy excels.
Last season, Kepa Arrizabalaga tried to clear less than 4 per cent of the corners that he faced.
He had a success rate of merely 50 per cent when he tried to leave his line to deal with a corner - that is horribly bad and proves that Kepa rarely claims and often fumbles during set-pieces.
On the other hand, Edouard Mendy tried to come out of his line to deal with 14 per cent of the corners whipped into his box.
He managed to avert the danger 80 per cent of the times, proving that he's on the opposite spectrum of Kepa as he frequently claims the ball and rarely fumbles.
Mendy is 4 inches taller than Kepa and his reach is much better than the Spaniard's - he would rank as the 3rd most effective GK at defending corners if he replicated his form in the Premier League.
Chelsea conceded 14 goals from set-pieces last season, ranking 7th worst in the English top flight.
