Barcelona manager Koeman backs Braithwaite to stay but confirms search for new striker

The coach reveals he wants to have two players per each position.

He singles out Martin as a different centre-forward compared to Messi and Griezmann.

"Martin does serve me. I would like to have 2 [players] per position.

Leo and Griezmann can play as '9', but they are not the type of centre-forwards as Martin,": Ronald Koeman told the media, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

Yet the coach also confirmed the club are looking for a new clear-cut striker, saying: "We are looking for a number 9, and there are many options. I will not mention the names of the players we are interested in."

Braithwaite has just recovered from a muscle injury and is included in the travelling squad to face Celta.

Barca are still linked with Lyon's Memphis Depay and Inter's Lautaro Martinez but time is running out for any signings as the transfer window slams shut next Monday.
