Barcelona striker Suarez now prefers Atletico move over Juventus

Luis Suarez would prefer to stay in Spain and join Atletico Madrid instead of Juventus, Deportes Cuatro say.

Diego Simeone is keen on the striker who is touted as an ideal candidate to replace Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata.

However, the Rojiblancos are unable to meet Suarez's wage demands and afford a transfer fee.

The La Liga giants hope to land the Uruguayan on a free transfer if he terminates his contract with Barcelona.

Suarez's salary is another issue as he is currently earning around €23m annually while Juve are reportedly offering 'just' €12m per season.

Neither of these sums is affordable for Atletico, though.

Meanwhile, CatRadio have earlier suggested Suarez could possibly make a dramatic U-turn and stay at Barca next season.
