Barcelona to register Trincao with first-team but Fati, Puig, Pedri and Araujo remain in doubt

Francisco Trincao has been told he will be a part of Barcelona's first team in the 2020/21 season, Toni Juanmarti of Diario SPORT reports.

The Portuguese has managed to impress Ronald Koeman during the pre-season and is likely to be given a first-team squad number for the upcoming campaign.

He's set to wear the No. 17 shirt after Antonie Griezmann switched to his beloved No. 7 this summer.

Ronald Araujo, Riqui Puig, Pedri and Ansu Fati, on the other hand, will have to wait to find out if they are included in Koeman's squad, Juanmarti adds.

Barca's initial idea was to include all four players into the first team but it depends on player sales right now.

Registering the youngsters with the B side will help the Catalans financially as their salaries won't be included in the first-team wage bill.

Even if Araujo, Puig, Pedri and Fati are registered for Barcelona B they all will continue to play for Koeman's side.

The thing with Pedri is that Las Palmas have an option to take him back on loan which would be invalid on two conditions: if the Catalans register him for the first team or the player joins a club from a top-flight division on loan.
