Barcelona vs Girona players Rating: Who are the top 4 top performers.

Barcelona vs Girona players Rating: Who are the top 4 top performers.

Here's how our players fared in the second friendly of the pre-season.

Francisco Trincao — 8
The Portuguese deserved to play from the start after his terrific performance against Gimnastic Tarragona and Ronald Koeman rewarded him. Although he's bee training with Messi for just a week, the two seem to have already formed quite a bond.

Trincao was dangerous going forward, with his speed and skills allowing him to dominate the right wing. Francisco registered an assist, setting up Coutinho for the first goal of the match.

Philippe Coutinho — 8
The loan spell at Bayern Munich seems to have benefited the Brazilian. Besides getting a goal to his name, he also assisted Messi's first goal and hit the crossbar once.

Coutinho looked average playing on the left wing in a 4-3-3 formation but with Koeman implementing his 4-2-3-1 formation, Philippe looks more comfortable being placed on the flank.

Leo Messi —9
The Argentine is getting his rhythm back and he game against Girona has proven that. If Leo looked rusty against Nastic, he was (almost) at the top of his game in the second pre-season friendly.

His passing, shooting and dribbling were as magical as we remembered. Messi was involved in all of Barca's goals, recording a pre-assist in the first one and scoring the second and the third. His weak-footed strike from the first half was just pure art.

Ronald Araujo —9
Alongside Neto, Araujo was the only player to feature for full 90 minutes, and it was fully deserved. The Uruguayan has what other centre-back at Barca don't — speed.

The youngster was extremely good defensively and his passing game was on point as well. Ronald stopped several attacks all by himself just by positioning the right way. He definitely deserves more playing time this season.

Frenkie de Jong — 5
The Dutchman looked distracted throughout the match, something you don't see from him all that often. Frenkie made two big errors during the game and the second one ended in a conceded goal for Barcelona.

Last match, De Jong played alongside Riqui Puig in midfield, so he was the one more focused on defence. This time, he partnered with Sergio Busquets, meaning that Frenkie was the one responsible for the attacks. Perhaps this is why the 23-year-old looked that bad.

Others: Neto 6, Roberto 7, Pique 6.5, Alba 6, Busquets 6, Griezmann 6.5. Semedo 6, Lenglet 6.5, Firpo 6, Puig 7.5, Alena 6, Dembele 6.5, Pedri 7, Konrad 7, Braithwaite 6.
