Chelsea with fresh bid to sign goalkeeper Edouard Mendy from Rennes
Chelsea are preparing a new offer for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy as Frank Lampard steps up his search for Kepa Arrizablaga's replacement, the Mirror claims.
Reportedly, the Blues had a £14 million offer rejected for the Rennes goalkeeper but are prepared to make a 'fresh bid' for the player.
Kepa has fallen down Chelsea's pecking order as he was benched for their final 2 games of the season.
Mendy, who stands at 195 centimetres, has been part of the Rennes squad since the summer of 2019. The Senegal international has an average career save success rate of 76 per cent.
Goal previously reported that this improved bid would be worth around £18 million, but the goalkeeper would not be a guaranteed starter.
We need to mention that the Mirror is not the most reliable source of information but they are not the first source either to report of Chelsea's interest in Mendy.
