Confirmed: Real Madrid drop Martin Odegaard out of the squad for Getafe friendly

The Norway international is believed to be fit and healthy but has been ruled out.

Martin Odegaard has been left out of the Real Madrid squad to face Getafe in our first and only pre-season friendly.

After a promising campaign on loan with Real Sociedad last season, the 21-year-old is expected to play for the first team this term.

However, Zinedine Zidane has dropped him from the squad to face Getafe, even though Marca reports that Odegaard has been training regularly without any fitness concerns.

This does deal a blow to the youngster's hopes of featuring regularly since the French boss has selected youngsters like Marvin Park, Antonio Blanco, Sergio Arribas, Carlos Dotor ahead of him.
