'I criticized Ansu for his performance in the pre-season against elche, that's what gave him a boost: Barca boss Koeman

The Barcelona younster show little character against elche in the pre-season and Barcelona manager koeman has revealed what he did to boost the play level of Ansu Fati.

Judging by his game against Villarreal, Fati knows how to handle criticism.

"I criticized Ansu Fati for his performance in the pre-season. That's what gave him a boost. He made a huge impact, especially on the wings," Ronald Koeman has told Movistar following Barcelona's 4-0 win over Villarreal.

"I'm delighted with Ansu Fati. He's only 17 years old, he will have a great future but he also must improve things. Sometimes he lacks a bit of concentration."

Koeman is talking about the Joan Gamper game against Elche when the La Masia graduate didn't show too much. However, it should be mentioned that he had only returned after a muscle injury he picked up during training.

Fati had a tremendous game against the Yellow Submarine, scoring twice and winning a penalty which was later converted by Leo Messi.
