Roberto says he couldn't believe that Messi wanted to leave Camp Nou.
Sergi is happy Leo stayed, although it might be for just one season.
"Leo Messi said he would only stay one more year, but if we play well, the feelings are good and we win titles, who knows, maybe he will change his mind. If that happens, it'll be much better," Sergi Roberto has told Ara.
"I didn't know anything about it (Messi's desire to leave), and when the news started coming out I couldn’t believe it.
I wish it wasn’t like that. With him, we are stronger, and I am happy he has decided to stay at the club."
As a reminder, Messi wanted to leave Barcelona but Josep Maria Bartomeu refused to let him go. Leo's contract expires already in June 2021, meaning that he can sign a pre-agreement with a new club already in January.
