Kai Havertz reveals Frank Lampard had a major impact on decision to join Chelsea

Lampard was one of those players Havertz loved to watch as a kid and Chelsea newcomer hopes to be a prolific goalscorer.

The Grman has little doubts learning from his new boss will help him in this regard.

"Of course he had a big impact on my decision because I loved him as a player and watched him very often, and I think I can learn from him now he is a manager as well," Kai Havertz said about Frank Lampard to the official Chelsea website.

"I think he is a very humble person and a great guy and I can’t wait to play with him and learn from him.

"He was very offensive like me and he loves to score goals, and I love to score goals as well so I think he will help me a lot in my position. Also maybe on the things that I can improve and I can’t wait to work with him."

Kai Havertz became the youngest player in the Bundesliga history to score 35 goals, so it's clear that the talent is there.

However, with the help of Chelsea's all-time top goalscorer (from the midfield, too), the sky seems to be the limit for the 21-year-old.
