Carragher believes the Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa finds himself in a 'nightmare moment'.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Chelsea's 2-0 defeat at Liverpool, Jamie Carragher said: "As players, you go through tough times at different times in his career and you actually feel a bit sorry for Kepa Arrizabalaga now.
"There's a new goalkeeper [Edouard Mendy] that looks like he's coming in so I don't think there's much more we can say about the goalkeeper. It must be tough for him and he's going through a really tough period.
"Our job is to be critical at times, but I remember when I went through a similar period earlier in my career. It wasn't going great and he's going through his own nightmare at the moment."
Kepa gifted a goal to Sadio Mane on Sunday with the Senegalese pouncing on the goalkeeper's mistake to make the score 2-0.
The Blues are set to officially announce the transfer of Edouard Mendy in the coming days with the Spaniard likely to be relegated to the bench.
