Manchester United in contact with Thiago's agent but no official bid yet

As reported by tier-one source Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United were in contact with Thiago Alcantara's agents but no official bid has been made from any club so far.

The Bayern Munich midfielder has also been linked with Liverpool but Romano notes that the Merseysiders are being touted as favourites simply because Jurgen Klopp is "pushing" for the move.

He goes on to add that both clubs could be waiting for the final few days to submit an offer below €30m.

Earlier, reports had indicated that the 29-year-old's wages are proving to be a stumbling block for the Red Devils.
