A terrible first-half performance, but some players played well enough to turn it around after the break.
Marcos Alonso - 3
A shocker of a half from the full-back, who was deservedly subbed off after just 45 minutes. In the first 10 minutes, the Spaniard's mistake led to West Brom's opener, after which he got a booking and never contributed to Chelsea's efforts on either side of the pitch.
Mason Mount - 7
If there's one thing you can'f fault Mount for, it's lack of determination. The midfielder started Chelsea's comeback and took part in all of his team's goals this evening.
Thiago Silva - 4
Not the best Premier League debut for the Brazilian who started the game with a captain's armband. This was such an uncharacteristic mistake from Silva that laed to the second goal conceded by Chelsea - let's hope it's not a sign of things to come.
Callum Hudson-Odoi - 7.5
Another Chelsea academy graduate who helped turn the game around. The winger came on to play, well, a winger, and it helped the Blues to apply more pressure on West Brom's defence. Also, a goal and an assist which counts for something.
Timo Werner - 4.5
Unlike Kai Havertz, who at least assisted Hudson-Odoi, Werner could not quite get it work tonight. At the end of the game, he was visibly rattled with how the game went for him - let's hope it's a rare blip.
Cesar Azpilicueta - 6
The captain came on after the half-time and brought solidity to the back. He didn't offer too much going forward, but that was not his job: he only needed to be more reliable than Alonso.
The rest: Caballero - 5, James - 5, Christensen - 5, Kante - 5, Kovacic - 5, Havertz - 5, Abraham - 5.5, Giroud - 5.5
