Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde reveals Zidane's advice that helped him score against Betis

The midfielder scored his first goal of the new season against Betis.

Valverde feels it's not just the job of the strikers to score goals.

In an interview with Real Madrid TV, Fede Valverde explained: "The boss [Zinedine Zidane] is always telling me to get into the box when I win possession.

"He speaks well about the job we do to press the opponent. He asks me to liven up, to attack because I have the physical capability to do it, to break through the lines and get forward.

"[Scoring goals] is really important. It's not just down to the strikers to score goals.

"We have to help from midfield, just the defenders, in order for Real Madrid to win. That's our job."

Valverde scored our first goal of the game within the first 15 minutes against Real Betis. Despite concerns over his dip in form post-lockdown, it looks like the 22-year-old is returning to his best.

He recently acknowledged the fact that there were some struggles along the way but it's good to see him regaining confidence.
