Real Madrid star Asensio set to leave Spain camp due to knee problems

The forward had been one of the players selected by Luis Enrique to play this month's Nations League matches against Germany and Ukraine.

Marco Asensio will be forced to leave the Spanish national team training camp after suffering swelling in his knee, as per Catalan-based outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The Real Madrid star complained about some discomfort and after undergoing medical examinations, it was discovered that he has edema in one of his knees.

Asensio will need a few days of complete rest to recover from this ailment, but won’t be available for La Roja in their UEFA Nations League matches against Germany and Ukraine.

The 22-year-old was delighted for being selected by the national team following a year-long absence, but he’ll now be gutted to miss out the opportunity to represent his nation after this latest setback.
