Real Madrid's preseason match against Rayo Vallecano called off due to Covid-19

According to Marca, Real Madrid's training match with Rayo Vallecano has been called off over fears of coronavirus.

A player from Rayo has undergone a PCR test and is waiting to see if he's tested positive or not.

Although it isn't confirmed if he's contracted the virus yet, Los Blancos have decided to call off the game to keep the players and staff safe.

The game was to be played behind closed doors with no press but this does paint a grim picture ahead of the start of the 2020/21 La Liga season.

Madrid will play their first game against Real Sociedad only on September 20 after a gruelling schedule that involved Champions League commitments.
