Reece James can be a midfield giant for Chelsea: Pat Nevin

The right-back spent a few minutes of the game in the middle of the park and former Blue Nevin believes he has the talent to excel there.

After his immense performance against Brighton where he scored a wonder-goal, former Blue Pat Nevin said of Reece James to Chelsea's official website: "Jorginho went off, Cesar Azpilicueta sprinted on and Reece James languidly stepped into midfield and looked like he owned the area within seconds!

"Reece could, however, be a central midfield colossus for the club in the months and years to come. And if Gareth Southgate wants, maybe that is how he eventually fits both into the Three Lions’ set-up together."

James has operated as a midfielder during his loan spell at Wigan Athletic and while passing the ball is one of his stronger suits, we're not sure that a full shift to the middle of the park is a great idea right now as he is so good at right-back!
