Sporting Lisbon rename youth Academy in tribute of former Man United and Real Madrid player ‘Academia Cristiano Ronaldo’
The Portuguese forward is arguably the greatest export from their academy.
Sporting Lisbon have decided to rename their youth academy as the ‘Academia Cristiano Ronaldo’ as tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo.
They tweeted: “The name of the best player ever is now perpetuated at our Academy. Sporting's Academy is now called AcademiaCristianoRonaldo.”
Ronaldo spent 5 years in Sporting’s youth academy before being promoted in 2002, after which rest is history.
CR7 has scored 639 goals in his career, broken many records and had a memorable stint at Real Madrid.
