We have the utmost respect for these players: Ramon Planes speaks on Suarez exit from Barca

The Uruguayan's future at Camp Nou remains in doubt as Ronald Koeman doesn't see him in his plans for the future.

Barca's technical director has refused to rule out the 33-year-old's departure in this transfer window.

“Luis is an important player for Barca and has been for years. We have the utmost respect for these players at Barcelona,” Barcelona's technical director Ramon Planes said of Luis Suarez's potential exit from Camp Nou on Tuesday.

“Obviously after everything we saw last season, we’re in the process of changing the team, with a new coach who has new ideas, and we’re working on this.

“You need to respect the players, the contracts. On October 5 the window closes and we’ll see what happens. We need to do the best we can for the players and for the club.”

The Uruguayan has been shown the door by Barca's new manager Ronald Koeman. The 33-year-old has been linked with Juventus, Ajax and Atletico Madrid.

As things stand now, Suarez's departure from Camp Nou has been put in doubt as the striker reportedly wants to get the remaining part of his €15m yearly salary to leave the Catalans on a free transfer before the October 5 deadline.
