Salvador Sostres insists he only wanted to praise the beauty of starlet's performance.

He compared the 17-year-old to a 'black street vendor' fleeing police.

"In my article about the match against Ferencvaros, it was my intention to praise the beauty of Ansu's performance and his class as a very young player," ABC journalist Salvador Sostres explained, referring to his infamous publication.

"But some of my expressions were considered as racist," Sostres continued.

He apologized for the choice of words: "Nothing was further from my intention or my opinion. Since Ansu made his debut, I've only favoured him. I deeply regret the misunderstanding and I apologize to anyone who might have been offended."

As a reminder, Sostres compared Ansu to a 'black street vendor' fleeing police, something that Antoine Griezmann publicly denounced.

Barcelona would take both the newspaper and Sostres to court, it's been widely reported.
