Butragueno react to Real Madrid’s exhausting schedule: ‘The fixtures calendar is very, very demanding’

Madrid’s director of institutional relations believes Zidane’s squad are capable enough to handle the pressure of the schedule.

He insists it’ll be important to count on a larger group of players to help get the wins for Los Blancos.

Speaking about the difficult fixture calendar ahead for Real Madrid, Emiliano Butragueno said (as quoted by AS): “The fixtures calendar is very, very demanding for everything that has happened in the last few months.

“Games are packed together. To have a squad with the calibre of Zidane's will give him the a possibility of confronting every week with guarantees.

“It will be important to be able to count on a large group of players, who will be able to help the team at any moment.”

Madrid have a daunting schedule ahead, especially when the Champions League games start from October 21.

With right-back Dani Carvajal injured for a few months and Eden Hazard struggling to gain fitness, Zinedine Zidane will hope the others can rise to the occasion and boost his side’s momentum as Los Blancos aim to keep competing on all fronts.
