Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas hit back at journalist criticizing Barcelona transfer

The Celta captain took to Twitter to explain Barcelona's transfer dealings.

Celta's captain Iago Aspas appears to have a better understanding of how the transfer market works nowadays than some Spanish journalists.

Aritz Gabilondo of Diario AS tweeted last night: "Barca offloaded Luis Suarez, Rakitic, Vidal and Rafinha at zero cost. It's hard to believe."

Aspas replied: "You forget the €70m gross per year salary of those players. And the problems of the salary limit [the clubs have faced] this season."

Iago got it right as there were multiple reports claiming Barcelona have to reduce the wage bill due to the coronavirus crisis.

The 33-year-old striker has scored 3 goals in 5 La Liga games this term but failed to find the net in the meeting against Barca last week.
