Christian Pulisic has revealed how much he has wanted Chelsea number No.10 jersey: 'It's no secret that it's been my favorite number'

Pulisic wanted the No.10 and he felt ready for it. It was a really proud moment for him and he wants to do well for Chelsea wearing his favourite number.

However, there's no extra pressure that comes from it, adds Pulisic.

"It meant a lot [being given the No.10]. It's no secret that it's been my favourite number. It's the number I wanted to be," Christian Pulisic told CBS Sports.

"Now that Willian moved on this season, there was an opportunity there. I spoke with the club and everyone felt like I was ready for it, and I felt I was ready, and it's a number I like.

"So it was a really proud moment for me last weekend to wear it for Chelsea for the first time. I'm really excited about it. I understand what it means and how much history it has -- how many incredible players have worn it before me -- but I see it as my favourite number. I just want to do well."

When asked if wearing the historic Chelsea No.10 adds any pressure, he replied: "No, I don't feel like the number is going to put extra pressure on me. I've been No. 10 for the national team for a while, as well.

"It's not something I'm thinking about too much, especially while I'm playing. It's a number on my shirt. Of course, I want to perform, but I put pressure on myself for other reasons. I don't feel like it's adding any pressure."

Lampard personally called Pulisic to hand him the No.10 shirt and he added that Captain America has deserved the right to wear that shirt.

Pulisic made his first appearance this season as he was subbed on late against Crystal Palace - we can't wait for his first start this campaign as we're sure he'll light the Premier Leauge on fire with his talent!
