Deschamps warns Barcelona forward Griezmann of his spot on France national team if he continues struggling

Griezmann has once again failed to impress in the goalless draw against Portugal over the weekend.

The France boss can't guarantee the 29-year-old a starting XI spot despite his past achievements for Les Bleus.

"I know you're looking at the last game, but look at his stats: 81 caps, 32 goals, 21 assists. It speaks for itself," France manager Didier Deschamps said of Antoine Griezmann, as quoted by Goal.

The Barcelona forward has endured a rather poor start to the season with the Catalans. He also failed to impress in the 0-0 draw with Portugal in the Nations League on Sunday.

"It doesn't guarantee him anything, like some other players who could have done better against Portugal," Deschamps added.

"I know his talent and what he can give to the team."

The 29-year-old could be given another opportunity to redeem himself in Wednesday's tie with Croatia before travelling back to Spain for the La Liga clash against Getafe on Saturday.
