Germany manager Joachim Low expects Rudiger to leave Chelsea ahead of upcoming Euros

Rudiger is no longer a regular starter under Frank Lampard.

He was heavily linked with an exit from Chelsea in the summer transfer window but ended up staying at the Bridge.

Germany boss believes the centre-back will leave the Blues for a more prominent role as he's desperate to make the squad for next summer's Euro.

“He tried everything to leave Chelsea because the European Championship is very important to him,” Germany manager Joachim Low said of Antonio Rudiger on Tuesday, as quoted by The Athletic.

“I think he'll try to leave again in the winter. He's doing everything he can to stay in his best form.”

Rudiger hasn't made a single appearance for the Blues this term as Frank Lampard prefers Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva and Fikayo Tomori to him.

Toni was expected to quit Chelsea with Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, AS Roma, Barcelona and Tottenham as potential destinations. The 27-year-old, however, ended up staying at the Bridge until at least January.
