Koeman believes the officials should use VAR for offsides but not for handballs.

Real Madrid beat Betis last weekend thanks to some controversial calls from the referee.

"I think we've gone too far with VAR. There are things in football you cannot do. I'm in favour of using it for offsides but not for all these handball decisions," Ronald Koeman has said during the press conference ahead of Barcelona's trip to Celta Vigo.

VAR, and refereeing in general, is a hot topic of discussion in Spain. Last weekend, Real Madrid got three points away against Real Betis thanks to some dubious calls from the referee.

First, it was a goal scored from what appeared to be an offside position, later followed a penalty awarded after a handball from Marc Bartra.

What the referee didn't take into consideration, though, was that Madrid's player pushed the defender to the ground.
