Koeman confirms Barcelona want Memphis and player interested in Barca move

There are a few hours until the transfer deadline.
Ronald Koeman has told the Dutch media that Barca's interest in Memphis Depay is mutual.

However, Barca first need to sell some players, he admits.

The manager praises Memphis for his versatility and physical skills.

"We want Memphis [Depay] and he wants to come too. However, due to the financial situation of the club, players should leave first," Ronald Koeman has told NOS.

"Memphis is a phenomenal player. He can play as a striker and also as a left winger. Depay wins his duels and has a lot of strength," the Dutchman added.

On Sunday, Lyon's sporting director confirmed that there was an agreement between Barca and Memphis Depay.

However, it seems like the Catalans are yet to match the asking price for the player.

Under Ronald Koeman, Depay netted 6 goals and provided 10 assists with the Netherlands since March 2019.
