Victor Font rephrase his sentence on plans for Koeman should he win the Barcelona upcoming elections

Font says that his project has Xavi as the general manager who could assume other responsibilities, such as coaching.

If Koeman keeps up the good results, he says that Xavi could decide to keep the current coaching staff.

"We continue to receive questions about what would happen to Koeman if 'Si al Futur' (Font's campaign) came to rule. Let’s clarify it," Victor Font has tweeted.

"In recent years, we have worked on a football project with a complete organization chart, from vice-president to the last coach of grassroots football. Machinery with many pieces that fit together to preserve and reinforce the model that has made us a role model and the best team in the world: the possession-based football.

"This project has been designed with Xavi Hernandez as the General Manager, being able to assume other responsibilities depending on the needs of the project at any given time.

"Xavi would be complemented with talent in key positions such as Sports Management, Technical Secretariat, Medical Services, Methodology, Scouting, Psychology/Behavior, etc.

"If we have the honour of ruling the club, it seems essential to us to implement a winning, consistent and worked out project, where all the pieces fit together. Names that do not maximize the chances of success in the medium to long term should be avoided.

"In this context, it is certain that if a positive dynamic of play and results were maintained, the project led by Xavi would rely on Koeman and his assistants continuing in the same position."

Font has always said that Xavi is the cornerstone of his project. However, it doesn't necessarily imply that he'll become the first-team coach right away.

As for Koeman, his contract at Barcelona runs until 2022. In case the vote of no confidence against Josep Maria Bartomeu goes through, Barca could have a new president by the end of 2020.
