Zidane could be our Sir Alex Ferguson at Real Madrid: Modric

The Croatian midfielder insisted whatever Zidane has achieved for Madrid can’t be repeated.

Modric believes that some of the criticism towards the French gaffer just doesn’t make any sense.

Speaking to Cadena Cope, Luka Modric spoke about Zinedine Zidane and said: “Zidane is a top manager and what he has done with us is something that cannot be repeated.

“People still don't appreciate him as a coach and he is always questioned but he is one of the best coaches in the world.

“On TV and the radio, you hear criticism towards him and people can criticise, but there are things that don't make sense.

“He is a spectacular coach who has clear ideas and who galvanises the players. He could have many more years at Real Madrid and could even emulate the likes of Alex Ferguson or Arsene Wenger in England.”

Modric clearly shares a really good relationship with Zidane and recently even tipped him to continue at Madrid for as long as Sir Alex Ferguson did at Man United. The Croatian has insisted that he ‘doesn’t want to be a burden’ for Real Madrid if they don’t wish to extend his contract but after seeing his loyalty, it’ll be hard for Zidane to let Modric leave.
