Anthony Elanga hoping to follow the footsteps of 2 former academy starlets into United squad

The Swedish attacker won the Jimmy Murphy young player of the year award for his heroics last season.

He believes having a manager like Solskjaer gives youngsters like him more incentive to work harder for earning promotion into the senior squad.

“You look at the likes of Mason and Rashy, there is a pathway there,” Anthony Elanga told PA News Agency when asked about his ambitions of breaking through to Man United’s senior squad.

“It just shows you that if you’re willing to put the work into it and continue to work hard day in, day out in training there’s a pathway for you there. Obviously, we’ve got a manager in Ole trusting the youngsters, so there’s a pathway there and I’ve just got to keep working hard.

“In training I’m always working hard and the way that I train is the way that I play. You can see that in the results and I’m just happy at the moment, I’m enjoying my football.”

Elanga is one of the brightest up and coming youngsters from United’s academy and won the Jimmy Murphy young player of the year award for his excellent work last season. The Swedish winger has scored 3 goals and assisted 3 in 8 games for our U23 side this season and if he maintains his impressive numbers – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could promote him soon.
