Barca Presidential Candidate Font Reveals New Plans For Guardiola After New City Contract

Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font was dealt a blow last week after seeing Pep Guardiola signed a new contract with Manchester City.

Bringing back the Spaniard to Nou Camp was one of Font’s major plans for the coming years at the club.

Despite Pep signing a new contract with City, Font declares that his plans haven’t changed.

He declared: “I am very happy for him because it means he will continue to do what he wants where he wants. We wish him the best. We hope that sooner or later we can create the conditions for him so that he can return to the club to help us.”

Guardiola has signed a new contract with the English giants until the summer of 2023 and has started building his squad for the next few years.

Font is considered to be the leading candidate to become the new president of Barcelona in an election scheduled for January to succeed Josep Maria Bartomeu.
