Barcelona B team left-back Alejandro Balde set to replace Junior Firpo if he leaves in January

Firpo's days at Barca appear to be numbered.

Ronald Koeman is ready to promote Barcelona B left-back Alejandro Balde to the first-team if Junior Firpo leaves Camp Nou in the January transfer window, according to Catalan outlet Sport.

As Inter Milan are reportedly still keen on the Brazilian and Koeman apparently doesn't see him in his plans for the future, Firpo is likely to quit the Catalans in the winter.

Barca don't plan to sign a replacement for Jordi Alba's back-up as they believe that Balde has the potential to be a 'top-level player'.

The 17-year-old, however, is yet to make a single appearance for the B side this season as he suffered an ankle ligament injury in October.

Alejandro is expected to come back to full fitness in around six weeks.
