Barcelona reportedly looking to extend Ansu Fati deal until 2026

Barcelona intend to extend Ansu Fati's contract and the directors will recommend the new president to offer the youngster a deal until 2026, Mundo Deportivo's reputable Migue Rico claims.

The 18-year-old's current contract with the club expires in 2022 but Blaugrana has the option to extend it for two more seasons.

However, Fati's father and his agent, Jorge Mendes, consider that Ansu's deal ends in 2022 and thus are looking for for an extension.

Besides, Barca also want the forward's wages to reflect his actual contribution to the team as Fati is currently one of the lowest-paid players at the club.

However, Fati's renewal isn't the Catalans' priority at the moment, as the new board will first look to extend Leo Messi's contract, with his deal expiring next summer.

So far this season, Ansu Fati has recorded five goals and four assists in 10 matches; unfortunately, he will miss the next four months through injury.
