Bruno Fernandes recalls being a top-notch central defender in his youth.
His former coach once told him that the Portuguese would become a much better centre-back than a midfielder.
"I was really good [at centre-back], I had a coach who said to me, 'If you want to be a top player, you will need to play as a central defender.
If you want to be a good player, you will be a midfielder," Bruno Fernandes has said at UTDPodcast while recalling how he played at the back in his youth.
What a bold claim that was. What if today's Bruno is indeed worse than centre-back Bruno if he went on to develop himself in that position? Well, that's what we'll never know for sure.
