Stats show why Timo Werner and Abraham should always start together

Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner started a game together for the 5th time this season.

The two strikers work very well together and Chelsea's performances are proof of that - here are the goals we have scored and the results in the matches that they have started together:

3 goals against West Brom - Draw

4 goals against Crystal Palace - Win

3 goals against Burnley - Win

3 goals against Rennes - Win

4 goals against Sheffield United - Win

Both Abraham and Werner were on the scoresheet last night in the 4-1 win against the Blades.

While Werner does take a wide position with Abraham on the field, the German international's work rate and his intelligence off the ball allow him to drift into good positions and he is capable of delivering some great passes in the final third.

Abraham is enjoying a good run of form as he has scored 6 goals and assisted 2 more this season despite reduced playing time.

Although the sample space is small, it is safe to suggest that Chelsea benefit when these two start together!
