Reportedly, Lampard wanted more solidity and quicker passing from the 21-year-old midfielder.
While Mount put in a very good shift against Sheffield United in the club's 4-1 win, it seemingly wasn't until Lampard's stern instructions from the sideline.
According to the Telegraph, Lampard shouted at Mount 30 minutes into the game, telling him to firstly "stop f—— about."
Secondly, he wanted Mount to be faster in playing the ball out wide, where Reece James and Hakim Ziyech were waiting on the right-wing.
However, Mason Mount has had an impressive start to the season with the youngster permanently shifting towards a deeper role in midfield for Chelsea.
