The win at Manchester United on Sunday took Arsenal to ninth in the Premier League table, but they remain just four points behind the leaders, Liverpool.
And Gunners hero Tony Adams Adams believes they can build on yesterday’s result and mount a challenge for their first title in more than 15 years.
Speaking after the game, the defender explained that he feels Mikel Arteta could win the title if they improve in two areas of the team.
He did, however, urge the Gunners manager to dip into the transfer market to bring in a new goalkeeper and number 10.
Arsenal’s current number 10, Mesut Ozil, has been frozen out of the side by Arteta.
And Adams believes they could bring in a new playmaker to make them title challengers again.
He also urged them to make a move to sign a new goalkeeper.
Arteta was keen to sign a new goalkeeper this summer to provide competition for Leno after selling Emiliano Martinez.
And clearly the former defender agrees he should have improved his options at the back.
“They’ll finish above United, they’re a top six team for me,” Adams told Stadium Astro.
“I think they’re just missing a goalkeeper and maybe another No.10 to be champions.”
