Update on Barcelona injury crisis: 7 players out, 1 might return soon


Umtiti's case is the most confusing one; he's been training with the team for a while now but it's unclear when he'll get the medical green light.

Gerard Pique — out for at least 3 months

Pique suffered a grade 3 sprain in the internal lateral ligament and partial injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in the match against Atletico Madrid. It's expected that he'll be out for at least three months.

Sergi Roberto — out for 2 months

Sergi Roberto suffered a rupture in the femoral rectus of his right thigh. He's expected to be back in two months.

Samuel Umtiti — return date unknown

Umtiti has been out with a knee injury since July. The 27-year-old has been training with the main group since the last season but the date of his return is still unknown.

Ronald Araujo — out for 2 weeks

Araujo suffered a thigh injury in the Champions League clash with Juventus. Ronald Koeman has confirmed that the Uruguayan is still doing individual work and won't be available for the upcoming match. According to Mundo Deportivo, he'll be out for another two weeks.

Sergio Busquets — out for at least 1 week

Busquets suffered a mild external collateral ligament sprain during the international break. He missed the Sunday training and won't be available for another week at least.

Ansu Fati — out for 4 months

Ansu Fati picked up a meniscus injury in the match against Real Betis. The youngster has undergone surgery and will be out for four months.

Ousmane Dembele — might be available for the next match

Dembele missed the Sunday training due to shoulder discomfort. However, considering that Barcelona haven't officially confirmed Ousmane's injury, he might be available for the upcoming game.
