Frank Lampard’s Injury Update On Hakim Ziyech Not Good

Injury Update Hakim Ziyech

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed Hakim Ziyech has suffered a hamstring injury and is out of this week’s Champions League game against Krasnodar.

The Blues have already qualified for the Champions League knockout stages after winning four and drawing once in their opening five games.

Ziyech, who has been a revelation since joining Chelsea from Ajax this summer, was forced off against Leeds on Saturday.

The winger created his side’s opening goal after playing Reece James through on the right-wing for the defender to cross for Olivier Giroud.

He had gone down clutching his hamstring, and Lampard confirmed on Monday that he was having a scan to assess the nature of the injury.

Lampard said: “Ziyech is going for a scan this afternoon so I will have more information tomorrow on his hamstring injury.”

The Blues boss also provided an update on Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has played in every European game so far this season.

Lampard added: “He [Ziyech] is out and Callum Hudson-Odoi is out, he also had a hamstring problem in training too.”
