Man Utd Make Formal Contact With David Alaba’s Representatives

Bayern Munich star David Alaba will be free to talk to other clubs in January with Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea reportedly the frontrunners for his signature.

But according to Spanish outlet AS, Manchester United are the latest club to declare interest in the versatile defender.

It is claimed the Red Devils have even made formal contact with Alaba’s representatives.

United want to add to their defensive reinforcements with current pairing Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof failing to regularly convince.

The report indicates that United will ‘bid the strongest’ for him after previously ‘cooling their interest’ in RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano with Bayern leading the way for his signature.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has been a previous admirer of the Austrian international but will face competition from PSG and Chelsea.

AS also report that rivals Manchester City and Barcelona have ‘firm interest’.
