Anthony Martial’s Wife Involved In Death Threats

Anthony Martial’s wife, Melanie Martial Da Cruz, has shared abusive messages sent to her on Instagram.

In a screen shot uploaded by Melanie Martial Da Cruz, the sender’s username was visible and a simple search on Instagram shows their account is still active.

Another user issued a death threat against United striker Martial, Ms Da Cruz, and their two-year-old son, accusing Martial of costing United the title following their 2-1 Premier League defeat to Sheffield United on Wednesday night.

In sharing one of the aforementioned posts, Ms Da Cruz wrote in French: “And I have plenty of them like that!”

United said in a statement issued on Thursday morning: “Everyone at Manchester United is disgusted by the racial abuse received by players via social media after last night’s game.

“We utterly condemn it and it is encouraging to see other fans condemn this on social media also.”
