Ozil Confirms Transfer To Fenerbahce

Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil confirmed his transfer to Fenerbahce after saying goodbyes.

The 32-year-old was given permission to head to Istanbul to complete his free transfer to the Super Lig side on Sunday.

Earlier in the weekend, Arsenal had agreed to terminate the £350k-a-week star’s contract.

The German playmaker will head to Istanbul on Sunday evening to complete the formalities of his move to Fenerbahce.

Ozil told Turkish TV channel NTV: “I am very excited and happy.

“I am a Fenerbahce fan. As a Fenerbahce fan, god made it possible to wear that jersey. I will do my best.

“Tonight I will come to Istanbul with my family. The flight time is not clear. I’ll be there tonight.”

The ex-Real Madrid also tweeted a picture of his ‘MO’ logo in Fenerbahce’s club colours – yellow and blue.

He even made it his Twitter avatar to further hammer home his commitment to his boyhood club.

Fenerbahce also confirmed the move was in place, telling the Turkish Stock Exchange: “Negotiations have started on the transfer of professional football player Mesut Ozil.”
